Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, the luxury hotel group from Dubai is planning its first European property. It has built the Jumeirah Port Soller Resort and Spa in Majorca and it will be a five star establishment. It is due to open on the 24th April and is located on a hill top by the sea with nine separate buildings.
The location is set with the pine forests on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. Its fishing village location has local fish restaurants, small cafés and a selection of fishing and sailing boats to look at. It has modernist buildings and an interesting town square and cobbled streets as well as a 100 year old wooden tram which takes visitors on tours of the area. The town has a Saturday market and an interesting selection of shops selling crafts and fresh produce. There is a local train which journeys through the mountain range to Palma, the capital and is a very beautiful trip.
It will have 120 suites and guest rooms which will either have a balcony or private terrace. It will have four restaurants, two swimming pools, three meeting rooms, a ballroom and a spa. It has an opening offer of pay for 4 nights and stay for 5 from the 24th April until 30th June and again from 14th September to 30th December.
The company are also planning other new properties in Kuwait, Azerbaijan and Dubai which are all due to open in the next few months.
