Gulf Air has recently changed its loyalty program. The Falconflyer programme has been proving to be more popular than their previous frequent flyer programme. It launched a few months ago and already has 20,000 new members. The launch was accompanied by a competition where customers were invited to enrol and win.
Gulf Air awarded the winners of their competition with a gold return ticket that they were able to use to travel to any of the new destinations offered by the carrier. They therefore had a choice between Milan, Nairobi, Geneva and Copenhagen and they were also able to use the gold services offered by the company.
The chief commercial officer of Gulf Air, Mr Karim Makhlouf explained that they have made changes to their frequent flyer program which has received positive feedback from their customers. He said that their customers are very important and so they want to make sure that they keep them happy and the new loyalty programme is part of these changes. He said that the new scheme offers better things for customers and so he was sure it would be popular, although he asked customers to continue giving feedback so that the company could make even more improvements.
The scheme has three levels of membership, gold, silver and blue and if they travel on Falcon gold to Manila, they are able to get three free economy tickets to the Middle East and GCC region. They also get a great miles earning system and good redemption rates, in fact the best available for airlines in this region. They also get a good baggage allowance, unlimited lounge access, priority luggage handling and special online booking bonuses as well as other benefits.
