Many people want to be able to take their dogs on holiday with them, but there is only a limited selection of holiday cottages, hotels, bed and breakfasts and other accommodation which will allow dog owners to have their pets in the room with them. However, there is now a company which specialises in finding suitable accommodation for those who want to have their pets with them.
Chien Bleu is a travel company which hand picks accommodation to suit dog owner. The owner of the company, Erin Boyd, wanted to take her dog with her on holiday and realised that it was difficult to find accommodation to suit them all. She therefore spent eighteen months researching high quality hotels around the UK which catered for man and do. She explained to the Daily Mail newspaper that it is predicted that pet travel will increase six per cent each year for the next five years and so she feels that her service will be very much in demand.
The company has three hotel testers who go to each hotel listed and they have a strict criteria which has to be fulfilled before they are listed on the portfolio. They have thirty favourites and a selection of others. There are even plans for a worldwide hotel selection, but at present they are all UK based from Trigony House in Dumfries to The Milestone in Kensington. The company’s website will launch on August 2nd and their motto is ‘If you are a host to your guest, be a host to his dog also’.
