Boutique Hotels Rise in Popularity

By Andrew Gibson

Research carried out by cheapflights has found that people often pick hotels according to their personality or holiday theme. This means that the boutique hotel or novelty places to stay have increased in popularity and there are now many more to choose from as various companies address this new demand.

Some people may think this is surprising, as they may think that this sort of hotel is too expensive for many people. However, compared to some of the big brands, they actually offer very good value for money. It also shows that people do not just want somewhere to stay but they are also interested in the personality of where they are.

In Stuttgart there is a hotel themed around cars, with each room having a different theme such as car wash, racing or caravan and some beds are even made from cars. In Amsterdam, the Qbic is a chic hotel with each room being cube shaped with designer furniture. In Sweden the Jumbo Hostel is a plane converted in to a 27 bed roomed hostel complete with bar and cafe and it even has a conference room. Desert Cave in Australia is an underground hotel which is cool and dry. The Library Hotel in New York is a top-rated luxury hotel with rooms numbered according the Dewey decimal system and each room contains relevant books for its number. There are many more themed hotels to choose from around the world and they can certainly make a hotel stay a lot more interesting, memorable and fun.
