Abu Dhabi Welcomes the Queen

By Chris Bradley

Abu Dhabi has welcomed the Queen and her husband Price Philip at the start of their week-long visit to the Gulf. It is hoped that her presence there will help stimulate the further development of the excellent relations between the Gulf States and the U.K.

The Queen was welcomed by the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and a party of prominent UAE ministers. The Queen will see a massive change to the area since her last visit there in 1979. Since that time the region has seen a spectacular growth in terms of infrastructure and tourism.

To further enhance the importance of the visit, the Duke of York also joined the Royal Party. It is hoped that he can continue to forge even stronger links for British trade.

Abu Dhabi has worked extremely hard in recent years to expand its business and tourism base. As a direct result of this it is now seen as one of the fastest growing tourist markets in the world due to the emphasis placed on quality of product and value for money. So successful have they been that they were voted as the World’s Leading Tourist Board.
