Frog’s Legs Loose out to London

By Andrew Gibson

Those good sports the French have finally admitted that they come a poor second to London in terms of tourism. It would appear that they have well and truly shot themselves in the foot by commissioning a survey to determine which capital city was the best for tourists. They have now finally admitted what we in the U.K have all known for years and that is that London is better than Paris.

London came out smelling of roses as it was placed at the top of the list ahead of other leading European capital cities. In the “24 Hours in a Capital City” report, the French had to concede defeat and publically admit that London was the better capital city.

It follows hot on the heels of London coming out top of the World Travel Awards. This time London was placed as the world’s leading holiday destination ahead of its rivals around the world. France highlighted in their report that London beat Paris at every level and walked away as the most popular capital city that tourists would like to visit.

A major shock to the French was that tourists felt that London restaurants were far superior. In the past they have made snide jokes about British food but this report puts them firmly in their place. It would appear that tourists prefer London cuisine to frog’s legs. It would appear that tourists are beginning to get sick of getting ripped off at French restaurants that are failing badly in terms of quality of food and customer service.

Tourists also revealed that they found the Houses of Parliament and the many other historic iconic landmarks in London more appealing than sightseeing in Paris. Foreign visitors gave London a whapping eighty two percent approval rate for the welcome that they received when visiting London.
