Conwy is a medieval town in North Wales and so great for visitors who have an interest in history. There are many holiday rental homes for holiday makers here and there is much more to the place than just the exciting culture. There is some fantastic architecture but it rests alongside modern shops. This may not suit all tastes, but is interesting and means that you have a mix for all people so you get the history mixed in with the amenities that we all need when staying in self catering accommodation.
The town has a modern marina area with lovely restaurants as well as the shops. Despite the modern area, most of the holiday cottages are more traditional and so you get to experience a more rustic side of life, although they are all fitted with modern conveniences so living there is still a luxury. Many people choose to visit the area because of the golf courses. The town has one within walking distance as well as being within driving distance of several more and so you can play at different ones if you wish to.
The town has a lovely sandy beach and so you may be lucky enough to be within walking of that as well and this can be great for relaxing and also for families. For older children and the adults, there are water sports on offer which can liven things up a bit if they need to be and there are other sports on offer too. This means that you will always be able to easily find something to do and for the rest of the family to do.
However, if you just want to relax and take in the breathtaking mountain landscape, you will find that the slow pace of life will allow you to relax and do so. Of course, you can also drive to Snowdonia National Park and be closer to those mountains should you want to.
