The banks of the River Alyn is the setting for the delightful village of Rossett. The village has some interesting buildings including the Jacobean Trevalyn Hall and a 19th Century church with an extremely eccentric design, and there are a variety of public houses, hotels and a scattering of shops. The river is a good place for a spot of birdwatching and herons, kingfishers and cormorants are just a few of the species that can be seen along its banks. The historic City of Chester is only six miles away and here visitors can admire the beautiful architecture, visit Roman ruins and explore the medieval city walls as well as visit the many shops and restaurants in Chester. This is a fabulous base to discover the riches this area has to offer.

Chester is a beautiful and historic border city. Walk its ancient walls, discover the Roman remains and experience 21st Century shopping in the unique half-timbered medieval ‘Rows’ at the city’s heart. Cruise the river, visit the cathedral or explore Chester Zoo – the possibilities are endless.
