Compare apartments, chalets & holiday accommodation in Les Diablerets
Les Diablerets is an extremely popular place for winter sports because it not only has fantastic facilities but is a great price with many cheap apartments and luxury ski chalets to rent. There are over 125km of pistes as well as a 7km toboggan run and a 45km cross country skiing area. This means that this Glacier 3000, has something to offer all winter sports enthusiasts.
However, the self catering holiday rental accommodation in the area tends to be as popular in the summer as it is in the winter. This is because there are so many things to do once the snow has melted with vineyards to visit and hiking trails to explore. There are opportunities to horse ride or mountain bike and many sports to take part in such as paragliding and cannoning. There are also interesting farms to visit where you can watch the herd being milk and fed and the milk being made in to d'Isenau cheese.
There are also forests and of course the mountains to look at as well with many of the self catering holiday rental accommodation having scenic views. The area has snow right through the summer so you can experience the summer activities as well as going up the mountain to ski or use the largest summer snow park in Europe with its obstacle park, boarder cross and three half pipes. There is also the Alpine Coaster for those who are very adventurous.
If you want to travel a little then there is a Bex salt mine and a viticulture museum nearby and golf courses too. In July there is the Nuitdes Diables music festival and in October there is the Festival of Swiss music which is orchestral and folk orientated. Many people also choose to take a day trip to the resort of Gstaad which has great shops, entertainment and night life. For a more historical place visiting Lausanne could be more appropriate.
