Aviemore is right in the middle of the Cairngorms National Park, which makes it very popular with people who have come to Scotland to explore it's rugged beauty and landscape. Aviemore is a great destination for families too because there are so many fun activities within easy reach. Activities include golf, fishing, bird watching, walking, cycling and horse riding. The Grampians are also nearby so if you want to do some walking Aviemore is a good place to stay. There's a wide selection of different pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels to visit in the area as well so you can sample the local gourmet food if you'd like to. Plus, the Lecht ski centre is easy to get to from Aviemore so if you get your thrills on the slopes you'll be spoilt for choice as to which run to take!
