Self catering holiday accommodation, caravans and chalets in St Andrews
St Andrews is on the east coast of Scotland in Fife and is probably most famous for its golf. The golf courses are fantastic and of course professionals play at the Old Course but the other six are also very good. The area is popular with visitors and therefore there are many self-catering apartments and cottages available to rent and most are near to a golf course. Anyone who plays would probably want to visit St Andrews at some point and so why not make it sooner rather than later.
As it is a popular area, you will find that the rental accommodation suits all ages and budgets and so whether you are looking for a large farmhouse for a big family or a small cheap apartment just for yourself, you should have no trouble in finding something. Many people just choose to stay for a weekend and spend the whole time playing golf or in the clubhouse having a drink and socialising. It is a fantastic opportunity to swap golf tips but also build up great memories of some of the most famous golf courses in the world.
The town does have much more to offer than just the golf course though. Apart from the university buildings that Prince William attended with Kate Middleton there is also the Cathedral to look at. It is over 100 meters in size and was completed in 1158. Due to the size it is an important building, but unfortunately is not in the best of conditions due to its 16th century ransacking and has therefore been left to go to ruin. It is still a very interesting place to visit. Midsummer tends to be the most popular time to visit St Andrews as the weather is at its best and you may even get to see the Golf Open Championships if you stay in July. But check if St Andrews is hosting as they do not do so every year.
