Self catering holiday accommodation, caravans and chalets in Angus
Angus and Dundee are located very close to each other. Dundee is quite a popular place for holidays but many people will stay in holiday rentals there but never explore Angus, which also has a lot to offer the tourist. It can be better to rent self-catering cottages in between the two places and then you have the opportunity to explore both of them. They also provide you with more space than most hotels and you get more privacy and choice over what you eat and drink. It can also be a cheaper option, especially if you have a large family.
You may decide to choose a Monifieth cottage accommodation as they are close to the Grange Golf Club as well as the Broughty Ferry and the seaside and so ideal for a family holiday. Angus Glen is an area popular with nature lovers and walkers and also a great spot for bird watching. Glen Cova is a popular spot here because the walks up to Glen Doll and on up to the Caingorm Mountains are so fantastic.
The area of Angus and Dundee does have special events through the year such as fetes and galas and so it could be worth checking their local paper for details and planning your stay around this. The music festival lasts all summer and there is also the Arbroath Sea Fest, farmers markets, Angus Glens Walking Festival, Glamis Castles transport and music galas and the summer festival in Dundee. You may find the area is busy at this time though so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment.
There is also a great shopping centre in Dundee and not only does it have a great range of shops but the building is great to look at as well. There is also Caird Hall which is the beautiful concert venue where you can go and see all sorts of performances including music, dance and comedy. If you prefer the theatre then the Dundee Rep Theatre with its company of contemporary actors and dancers, is likely to have something showing that want to see.
