The town of Nazar has a striking town centre with a long main boulevard along which there are a selection of restaurants and bars. You can even rent direct apartments in the heart of the town. This area is popular, especially with people trying the fish dishes, which are the speciality of the area. There is a large fish market where anyone can purchase fish if they want and you can then cook them back in your rental accommodation.
The town has a long beach which is several kilometres long with a marina. Some parts of the beach are used by local fishermen to mend their nets but the rest is used by people wanting to sun bathe or swim in the sea. Enjoy the views with a villa by the beach with its own private pool. Many people choose to visit the marina to take a look at the yachts or go fishing or scuba diving.
The top of the town has wonderful views of the town and there are some great walks leading from this area. This district of town is called the Sitio area and it has a funicular which can take you up the steep coastal plain or you can walk along and discover the coastline and little beaches which are great fishing spots.
There is also a water park in this area of town which is popular with children. If you like a sheltered beach then along the coast is Sao Martin do Porto which is unspoilt and does not have the swells of the Atlantic sea like the main beach in Nazar does. The temperatures in the area are in the high thirties at the hottest time of the year and do not drop much for the whole of the summer season which is why it is such a popular area with visitors staying in rental homes. Many choose to rent self-catering apartments and villas and fully enjoy this area.
