Take time to explore some of the very interesting set of buildings. It has a large church with large bell tower and a great collection of religious art as well as a monastery which is less bright but still as interesting.

Stay in coastal villas with their own private pools or perhaps a beach front apartment rental during your vacation here. The coastline is fantastic too with the blue sea, orange cliffs and white sand and many photographers really enjoy the area for this reason. There are many different beaches too, some secluded and others more popular such as Bangail, Vale de Centianes and Carvoeiro. These all cater well for tourists and have water sports on offer.

There is also great tuna, marlin and swordfish to be had as a result of the deep sea fishing and you can explore the coast in a tourist sightseeing boat. With so many activities on offer it means that everyone will find something to do that will make them happy. There are golf courses, water parks and family activity centres. In August there is a rural fair where there are bands, stalls and singers from all over the country as well as plenty of Portuguese produce.

There are also other places nearby worth visiting including the villages of Sesmarias and Ferragudi and the famous Carvoeiro which is popular with tourists staying in self catering accommodation. With summers getting to the mid thirties in temperature it is not surprising that the rental accommodation is popular from July through to the end of August and even in the winter it stays above ten degrees and so there are always visitors to the area, whatever the time of the year.
