Colares is just a short drive from the coast which makes it a great location for a beach villa holiday with swimming and water sports available. You can take part in deep sea fishing, body boarding, sailing trips, surfing and windsurfing should you wish or just enjoy the warmth and do some sunbathing.
There three best beaches in the area are Praia das Macas, Praia da Adraga and Praia Grande and they are all within 20 minutes of the centre of the village and Gunicho is the place to go for surfing. Nearby there are also golf courses and there are some big ones open all year at Estoril and Sintra which are close by towns. If you prefer more natural activity then the Sintra Cascais Natural Park is great for exploring on foot, horse or bike.
Sinta also offers an interesting history as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and therefore has many interesting buildings to look at including Pena Palace and the National Palace. The City of Lisbon is also close by and is a lively place with clubs and bars, restaurants and shops as well as museums. However, you may just prefer to stay close by your holiday apartment rental accommodation in Colares and enjoy the warm temperatures walking and relaxing in the town.
