The municipality of Alphen-Chaam has everything for tourists: rich history, water, forests and heaths. You can go for wonderful hikes through the vast forested areas courtesy of the many hiking and biking trails in the area. You can also spend the day at one of the picnic areas or excursion sites. Or relax at the large recreation area with its swimming pools, playing pond, beach and lawn. There is also a large community pool at your disposal. Alphen-Chaam is also a good starting point for trips to neighboring cities like: Breda and Tilburg, or the nearby town of Baarle-Nassau / Hertog. Other ideas for excursions include the amusement park of Efteling, the "Land van Ooit" and "Beekse Bergen". Then there's the "Het Broek" nature reserve located between Chaam and Ulvenhout. This is a designated reserve area and is set up in a way that the birds are not disturbed. In the western part of the community you will find a few farms which are scenic and culturally valuable. These include Anne Villeneuve, famous for being the temporary residence of Queen Wilhelmina during the liberation in May 1945, and Hondsdonk. In Alphen there is a regional museum with a large collection of archaeological objects and various crafts from the beginning of the 20th century. You will also find detailed information regarding visits to the grave hill by Kwaalburg and the cemetery at the "Boslust".
