From this apartment you can begin a variety of hiking, cycling and mountain biking trips. From Mechelen you can traverse the famous ANWB Mergelland route. Many routes will take you past castles in southern Limburg and Belgium. Because of the proximity of Germany and Belgium, you can easily organise a daytrip to the Ardennes or the Eiffel. The cities of Maastricht and Aachen are only 20km away. The Thermae 2000 thermal spa is 15 km away. You can go for a swim at the Mosaqua subtropical swimming paradise in Gulpen or in the nearby town of Vaals (well-known for being the place where three countries meet). Less than 2km away there is the golf course of Gulpen. You can go skiing year round at Snowworld in Landgraaf. There are also many nice and cozy bars and restaurants that are well worth trying. In the apartment you will find a folder with information about the area. Bikes can also be delivered to your apartment. Each season here has its own charm. In spring all the fruit trees blossom and you can witness the birth of little lambs at the sheep-fold. The summer always has a variety of organised events. The sun will shine on your terrace from about 14:30 until sundown, thus allowing you to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set behind the hills. In early autumn you can pick various fruits, walnuts and chestnuts. Later on in autumn the woods turn beautiful shades of orange, yellow and red. In winter you can enjoy winter sports such as skiing and cross-country skiing in the Ardennes of the Eiffel. In February we celebrate carnival- great fun for both young and old!
