Imperia province is an area of Italy with an interesting history and is much in demand with tourists who like to book self catering holiday rental accommodation. The main town is Liguria which is where a lot of the holiday luxury villas and cheap apartments are situated. Further out of the area there are also some traditional cottages and farmhouses with private swimming pools that offer a degree more seclusion.
The area has the coast of the Italian Riviera on one side and the Alps on the other and so it will certainly offer a contrast to visitors who come here on their summer holiday and stay in holiday homes. Many of the large luxury holiday villa rentals have fantastic views of the countryside down over the picturesque lush green valleys down onto the sea. It is a fantastic location to be able to fully relax and unwind by the side of your private pool and enjoy the tranquillity of the place.

By exploring some of the local towns and villages you will get to experience some of the customs that may even date back to when they were first built in medieval times. You could also explore the quiet mountains and look up at them from different angles or even climb parts of them.
The coastal resorts are rather less quiet with some of them being busy and vibrant, but that can add a great contrast to the holiday. There are also a great deal of sporting activities which can be taken part in too.
