Holiday cottages in Leitrim

Leitrim is an interesting place to stay in holiday rental accommodation. It is almost completely surrounded by other Irish Counties and despite only having a few miles of coastline it is very nautically based. There is a lovely sandy beach and so a lot of visitors choose to rent holiday cottage accommodation within walking distance so that they can make the most of their time there.

The beach is actually on the edge of Lough Allen which runs through the middle of the county, fed by the River Shannon which then passes through 13 Irish counties. Being close to water means that there are many water sports on offer as well as fishing. You can choose from the Lough, river or canal and so there is plenty of variety available and something to suit everyone.

The landscapes in the area are well worth exploring too with mountains and countryside they make a fantastic site and walking around, discovering them is a fantastic and relaxing way to spend some time during your stay. It is an area which is peaceful and relaxing and so even if you decide to take part in some of the more strenuous or daring sports on offer, you will always have a peaceful holiday home to return to so that you can relax again.
