Self-catering holiday rental accommodation in Kilarney is nestled in the north of the Macgillilcuddy Reeks Mountains and on the edge of the Killarney National Park. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty which is 102 square kilometres in total and something which you want to explore during your visit staying in holiday cottages.
It has yew and oak forests which are very important but also interesting buildings such as Muckross and Inisfallen abbeys. There is also Ross Castle which is a 15th century building a draws many visitors. Many visitors to the area also like to go to the three lakes of Kilarney which have rugged hills around them and stunning scenery. Nearby there is the Dingle Peninsular which has stunning coastal views and some interesting ruins dating back to medieval and prehistoric times.
The Ferriter's Cover shows signs of Mesolithic inhabitants and dating back 1500 years Gallarus Oratory is also very interesting. There are other things which attract people to this part of Ireland. It seems to be the bit that has had the least foreign influence over the years and so it is the most traditionally Irish of all counties. It provides Irish music, drink and food very well and so you will really be able to experience Ireland at its best. The weather in the area is mild but wet, but that should not stop you enjoying a round or two at golf at one of the 40 golf courses in the area.
