Surrounded by three lakes and mountains, with Ireland's highest mountain Carran Tuathail nearby, Killarney is in the middle of the omonimous National Park and offers breathtaking views and plenty of scenic driving, cycling and walking routes of varying lengths and difficulties. There are also a number of places of historical interest like the Cathedral, Ross Castle and the Muckross Estate. In town you will find a large number of excellent restaurants, lively pubs (many withlive traditional music), craft shops and a cinema.
