Magnificent country mansion. Immaculately restored. Air conditioned bedrooms.The small village of Mas Blanc des Alpilles is under a mile away and has two restaurants and a basic grocery store. Other facilities such as tennis courts are available in Saint Etienne du Grès. St Remy de Provence famous for its Roman history and ruins has a wealth of restaurants, more extensive shopping and supermarket is about five minutes drive from the village. The walled city of Avignon, the marshes of the Camargue and beaches are all under an hour’s drive, with another famous Roman town, Arles accessible in half that time.The house is surrounded by the owner’s fields, which are often awash with the bright colours of sunflowers. The courtyard in front of the house can be enclosed for child safety and there is a fenced swimming pool (10 x 5m 21/05-09/09) and pool house with shower and wc. Garden furniture and barbecue. There is a huge barn/garage, where cars can be parked or the ping-pong table put out of the sun. A caretaker and his friendly Labrador live next door in a totally independent cottage outside the walls and with its own entrance and driveway.

The house has been recently restored and great care has been taken to provide comfortable accommodation and yet retain the original character of the building. From the front door stone steps lead up to the first floor, here there are four air-conditioned bedrooms, a double and three twins. One bathroom with bath, shower, basins and wc, three shower rooms each with basin and wc. On the ground floor three very large rooms, a living room with two sofas, satellite television (English and German channels). and doors to the courtyard, a dining room with open fireplace and a kitchen with table and chairs, ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Off this is the utility room with washing machine leading to the garage. There is an under-floor cooling/heating system, which keeps the house at a comfortable temperature. Bed linen and towels included.
