This is an excellent environment, consisting of mountains, meadows and forests. Mountain hiking or real mountain climbing can be enjoyed here. The neighboring houses lie out of sight, so you have lots of privacy. The area emanates tranquility and peace. The chateau is situated on a mountain side at an altitude of ca 560 meters. It is a sheltered spot due to the forests but even more so because of the surrounding mountains. The Ariège is known for its climate: a little wind and enough rainfall to keep nature abundantly green all year round. Close to the swimming pool you'll find the old ruins of an old farm dating from the 14th/15th century. From the higher Pyrenees mountain tops you have an excellent view of the Arize River valley and the higher Pyrenees. Several restaurants can be found at a distance of ca. 4 km, larger towns are approx. 20 km away. The sandy beaches of Lac du Mondely are 15 km away. There are numerous possibilities for activities/trips in the area: an afternoon of horseback riding or rafting, looking for fossils, sailing subterranean rivers or a visit to tax-free Andorra. Those who dare can go delta flying or try paragliding.
