The Czech Republic is not defined just by the Giant Mountains or the Sumava Mountains but also by the beautiful Highland Province, which provides great opportunities for hiking and cycling. At the campsite there are several car and bike routes nearby. The hills always offer new prospects which sometimes includes one of the few remaining flocks of sheep in the Czech Republic. Enjoy the peace and quiet along with the unique nature, but also various historic towns and picturesque villages. Třebíč and Telc are highly recommended. Both places are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Třebíč is a unique place for Christian-Judeo monuments, such as the Romanesque-Gothic St. Prokopbasilika and the unique Jewish district with more than 120 houses, tortuous streets, dark corners, arched passageways and romantic little squares. The original Jewish cemetery, dating from the early Middle Ages, is the best preserved of its kind in the Czech Republic. Telc is charming with its pastel-colored houses along the market, arched galleries, and the renaissance castle of Telc. The town of Jihlava was one of in the richest towns of the Czech Republic during the Middle Ages. The town has one of the largest marketplaces in the country. A visit to the aisles, located beneath the square, is fascinating. Of course a visit to the zoo is always fun too! You can spend quiet evenings comfortably at the campsite, or, if you are looking for something a little more sociable, you can visit one of the two pubs located in Opatov.
