Leogang is a resort in the Saalach Valley situated in the Pinzgauer Saalanchtal area of Salzburg in Austria. It is a quiet area which means that it is a great place to relax when staying in self catering accommodation. The skiing is taken very seriously here and the leisure side of things such as shops and restaurants are not so plentiful or popular. There are a few bars but not many compared to some other resorts.
There are great slopes and pistes for learners and intermediate skiers and a ski school close to the centre of the village so that you can get all the tuition you should need. There are buses to take you up and you can choose from different slopes to ski open each day. This means that it can be really interesting as you get to explore different areas and see different views. You will be able to take advantage of everything that the Saalbach Hinterglemm ski area has to offer.
There are alpine meadows around the village making it look spectacular at all times of the year and in the summer they are lovely to walk through or to cycle around. You can stay here in chalets and ski apartments at all times of the year and many families come here on vacation more than once. There are many cycle paths in the area and so when there is no snow cover there is plenty of exploring to do. There are also three golf courses and the Brandhof and Urslautal golf clubs have great views. Nearby Salzburg is also a popular place to visit and you can go from there on spa trips or to the Caves of St Martin, should you wish to when staying in holiday homes in Leogang.
